FAQ

Your Questions Answered

How many injections will I need?

Most patients require more than one injection starting with once a month but your program will be modified based on your needs. The interval can be extended depending on how you respond.

What should I expect after my injection?

It's normal to feel mild irritation after the injection for the first few days. We suggest artificial tears for comfort. Signs of a dangerous infection include severe pain, redness and suddenly decreased vision.

What should I expect when receiving an eye injection?

During your eye appointment your patient technician will get you ready for your injection. Your ophthalmologist will review your testing and inject the medication. A local anesthetic will be used to reduce/prevent any discomfort.

Intravitreal Injections

Anti-VEGF agents are medications that are in use in the treatment of various common eye diseases such as: Wet Age-related Macular Degeneration (ARMD), Diabetic Macular Edema (DME), and Retinal Vein Occlusion (RVO). Medications are delivered into the eye by an injection. The procedure is performed in the office and is well tolerated with topical anesthetic drops.
